The Russian manicure with BIAB combines two premium techniques in a single service: the Russian manicure, which cleans and prepares the cuticle dry with an electric drill for a precise finish right to the edge of the nail, and Victoria Vynn Mega Base (BIAB), which levels and reinforces the nail plate to create a resistant structure. It is our most complete service, made for anyone who wants the cleanest, longest-lasting finish possible.

What is a Russian manicure?

The Russian manicure is the technique preferred by professionals. It uses a low-speed electric drill to remove the cuticle dry, eliminating dead skin with maximum hygiene and no irritation. The result is an impeccable contour, defined right to the edge of the nail, and polish that adheres better and lasts considerably longer than with a conventional manicure.

What is a BIAB manicure?

BIAB stands for Builder In A Bottle: a builder gel applied as a base to reinforce the natural nail without using acrylic. We work with Victoria Vynn Mega Base, the most structural version: it levels the surface, creates a natural C-curve, adds strength and protects the nail. It removes without damage and is ideal for thin, weak or post-acrylic nails.

Russian + BIAB: why we combine them

Each is a great technique on its own; together they reinforce one another. The Russian technique leaves a perfect contour and a clean surface on which the Mega Base grips better and lasts longer. You notice the result from the very first visit: an impeccable manicure right to the cuticle edge, with stronger nails, a perfected natural curve and a finish that stays intact far longer than a conventional semi-permanent.

Do you offer just a Russian manicure, without BIAB?

At Cool Nails we offer the Russian manicure as part of our combined Russian + BIAB service, because the Russian technique performs at its best when paired with a levelling base that sets the result and makes it last longer. If you have a specific need, message us on WhatsApp and we'll advise you.

And just BIAB, without the Russian technique?

We also work with Mega Base (BIAB) to reinforce the nail. Our recommendation is to combine it with the Russian cuticle prep, as that's what achieves the clean finish to the edge and maximum durability. Tell us what you're after and we'll guide you.

How long is the appointment and how long does it last on the nail?

The appointment takes around 1 hour 15 minutes. On the nail, the finish stays intact for 3 to 4 weeks, usually longer than a conventional semi-permanent thanks to the Mega Base.

Is it the same as a regular semi-permanent manicure?

No. Semi-permanent applies colour onto the nail; Russian with BIAB adds a dry cuticle prep with an electric drill and a builder base that reinforces and levels the nail. The result is cleaner, stronger and longer-lasting.

Does it damage the natural nail?

No. The Mega Base is removed in a controlled way without over-filing the nail, and the Russian technique works only the dead skin of the cuticle. In fact it's a highly recommended option for recovering weakened nails after acrylic.
